You have always dreamed about having your wedding in a beautiful location, by the beach with the sunset as a backdrop… there is no reason why you cannot make your dream a reality if you consider a few important details:
- Legalities; one of the most important aspects as when you are planning a wedding abroad. Finding out what documents are required and what is the time period needed to be a resident in the country you have chosen to host your wedding is vital. Different countries have different rules and regulations; in France a 40 day period of being resident is required while in Cyprus you don’t need more that 7 days.
- Distance; how many hours will you require to get to your chosen destination is also important. Distance must be considered especially if you would like your family and friends to be there and celebrate with you on your big day. A destination that requires 12 hours travelling might put off a few of your guests, especially if they have small children.
- Season; If you decide to have your wedding during high season, there is a possibility of paying more than you were planning to. Months like April, beginning of May and mid-to end September are considered to be more cost effective.
- Wedding planner; hiring a wedding planner who works in your chosen destination can be a very good decision. Not only do they know the law but they also know the mentality and the way of thinking of the suppliers and venue providers. A good wedding planner will be able to handle everything for you, secure the best prices and save you lots of time, money and stress.
Weddings abroad are ideal for romantic weddings in beautiful locations with breathtaking sunsets. Additionally the absence of weather worries is another very good factor to bear in mind.
